There is nothing better than having an adventure in another country together with your nearest and dearest. Where better than Namibia to introduce your children to different cultures, wildlife and ways of life? This 12-day Namibia Family Adventure is a self-drive trip showcasing Namibia's highlights. The beauty of doing this in your own vehicle is you have the freedom to set your own pace, stop, take breaks when you choose and also plan your days around what you want to do, all you have to do is ensure you get to the next destination by evening.

It may seem like there is a lot of driving, but in Namibia the roads are wide, good quality and it's safe to travel here. Apart from in the cities and towns you will not see lots of traffic either, and you can admire the ever-changing views which are awe-inspiring, this is a great way to holiday and spend quality time with family!

On arrival in Windhoek, you will be met and transferred to the city where you will pick up your vehicle. An overnight in Windhoek will ensure you are rested and ready to start this wonderful adventure. The first couple of days you explore the magnificent Namib-Naukluft National Park and the iconic ochre dunes of the Sossusvlei, there are some incredibly scenic areas here and it is well worth the effort to clamber up one of these magnificent sandy mountains for the view from the top.

Then it's on to the coast for a couple of nights in Swakopmund, a delightful town, known as the adventure capital of Namibia. There are so many activities offered here from quad-biking or sand-boarding in the dunes, skydiving, scenic flights, even go-karting, you may struggle to pack it all in. A great family activity is a boat trip out to sea from Walvis Bay, you may even get to kiss a seal!

Then the magnificent scenery of Damaraland awaits you, from mountains, granite boulders, interesting rock formations, not forgetting the historic rock paintings of the San Bushmen and an opportunity to see the desert-adapted wildlife that roams the area. Then you get to explore Namibia's premier wildlife destination, Etosha. Here you will have plenty of opportunities for excellent photographs of the varied wildlife. Your final stop is at Okonjima, home of the AfriCat Foundation, a popular and very worthwhile experience and a chance to see conservation in action.

Namibia really does have something for everyone and is a great family destination!
