Arrive in Nairobi. Transfer to Porini Amboseli Camp
You'll be met when you arrive at Nairobi airport and transferred (shared) by road for three to four hours to your first safari camp, Porini Amboseli Camp. You'll be shown to your tent and will have time to relax after your journey. Time permitting you could take a game drive or visit a Maasai village for an insight into their daily lives. Your drive culminates in sundowners overlooking Kilimanjaro. Back in camp, you can get to know fellow guests over a delicious dinner. You should sleep well on your first night in Kenya, ready for a busy day tomorrow.
Amboseli National Park
You'll be woken early for breakfast before setting out for a game drive in Amboseli National Park. It's known for its concentrations of elephant, wildebeest and zebra. The safari includes a picnic lunch, but you'll be back in camp in the afternoon with time for a rest. Later, after tea, you'll travel into the Selenkay Conservancy for sundowners followed by game viewing after nightfall. A night drive offers fascinating glimpses of nocturnal wildlife, a real eye-opener.
Transfer to Porini Rhino Camp
Today you'll fly via Nairobi to Nanyuki airstrip west of Mount Kenya. You'll be met and transferred to Porini Rhino Camp, your home for the next two nights, arriving in time for lunch. The camp is in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. After tea you'll venture into the conservancy for an afternoon game drive followed by sundowners. Dinner in camp is a sociable affair, as you swap stories and experiences with fellow guests.
Ol Pejeta and Chimpanzee Sanctuary
You'll be out exploring this morning with a choice of a game drive or guided walk. The conservancy covers 90,000 acres and has diverse wildlife. It promises to be an exciting morning's game viewing. You'll be back in camp for lunch and a rest, before your afternoon activity. If you want, you can visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which is open from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. This is the only place in Kenya where you'll see chimpanzees, so for wildlife lovers this is an opportunity not to be missed. After dinner tonight you can take a drive to observe the nocturnal life of the area.
Transfer to Porini Lion Camp
Bidding farewell to the staff at Rhino Camp you'll head back to the airstrip for the flight to the Masai Mara and the 25 minute transfer to Porini Lion Camp. The camp is in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy, bordering the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, a fitting final destination for your safari. Settle in and enjoy lunch and tea before a game drive or guided walk in this wildlife-rich area. Sundowners in a specially chosen spot will round off the experience, then you'll head back for a hot shower before sitting down to dinner.
The morning starts with an early breakfast to make the most of the full day safari in the Masai Mara. This area is known for its big cats, but it's the sheer diversity of wildlife that makes a safari here so rewarding. Be sure to have your camera to hand to document the day. You'll have a tasty picnic lunch en-route, returning back to the camp in the late afternoon. Celebrate with a chilled beer or G&T in the bar - it's been a long, and hopefully rewarding day!
Fly to Nairobi
If you rise early you'll have a chance to take a walk with a Maasai warrior before breakfast. Bags packed, you'll be ready for the short transfer to the airstrip and the flight back to Wilson airport in Nairobi. The trip ends here, but you could add on other experiences such as some time on the beach if you want to stay longer.
