Highlights of Argentina

Explore some of Argentina's diverse and beautiful regions.

9 days from £3450pp plus international flights.

Three contrasting destinations, each outstanding, expert guides, specially selected hotels and time for independent exploration all in nine amazing days.

  • Explore vibrant Buenos Aires with your own guide
  • Optional dinner and tango excursion
  • See the awe-inspiring Perito Moreno Glacier
  • Thrill to the sight of the Devil's Throat at Iguazu Falls
  • Guided rainforest hikes

This holiday is the perfect introduction to Argentina. You tour the vibrant and multi-faceted city of Buenos Aires before flying down to the starkly beautiful world of Los Glaciers National Park and thence to Iguazu Falls, the largest waterfall system in the world. All in nine wonderful days and with ample free time for you to explore on your own.

Arriving in Buenos Aires, colloquially referred to as BA by those in the know, you are driven to your charming hotel in the fashionable Palermo Soho district of the city. Your accommodation is rather more luxurious than that of its previous inhabitants when it was a working convent, but the atrium retains the feel of a cloister and the hotel is full of character. Relax on the roof terrace: your holiday has begun!

Over the next few days you get to know BA well. Your guided tour displays principle sights and also uncovers some lesser known gems, showing you many aspects of this lively, historical, artistic and cultural city, and you have free time to take it all in at your pace.

Nature in its raw beauty is the undoubted star of your next destination, Patagonia. In Los Glaciers National Park, you witness huge, rugged glaciers rising out of turquoise lake water against a backdrop of mighty mountains. It's truly breath-taking. A national park guide provides expertise and insights as you marvel at the sheer scale of the scenery. On your second day you can return or explore a different area as you please.

You'd think that would be hard to top, but arguably Iguazu Falls succeeds. The largest waterfall in the world is composed of some 275 separate waterfalls spread along 2.7kms. If that sounds impressive, just wait till you see it! It's not just the sight, there's the sound of the pounding water and when you get close the feel of the spray. 'Big water', as Iguazu translates, barely seems to suffice. You tour both the Argentinian and Brazilian side of the falls to view them from various vantage points and to see the astounding Devil's Throat, a horseshoe-shaped formation of 14 falls which plunge an amazing 80 metres to the abyss below.

You'll come away with vivid impressions, indelible memories and, hopefully, photos to match. One thing's for sure, you'll soon be planning a return visit.
