On arrival at Entebbe airport you will be met and transferred to The Boma Guest House. No activities or excursions have been arranged for today, leaving you free to unwind after the journey and become accustomed to your new surroundings. The hotel has pretty gardens and a lovely outdoor pool, ideal for relaxing, and tonight you can dine at the hotel or opt to eat in a local restaurant.
To Murchison Falls
Today your driver/guide will pick you up after breakfast and you set off north to Murchison Falls. It's a long way (about 5-6 hours), but you'll be able to break the journey and stretch your legs on the way. There's also an optional visit to a rhino sanctuary en-route, which makes a great introduction to the wildlife of Uganda.
Murchison Falls is a spectacular force of nature where the Nile is squeezed through a small gap in the landscape. You can see the falls from the top, but will also take a boat trip beneath the falls, so witness the full force of the water. Murchison is also a national park and has some very good game viewing and bird watching, so there's plenty to keep you occupied today.
Another day to enjoy Murchison Falls wildlife, bird life and spectacular landscapes. Your guide will help you spot and identify different species, building up your zoological knowledge. You can also visit Kaniyo Pabidi Ecotourist site which has one of the largest forests in the country home to nine different primate species and hundreds of types of birds and butterflies. There may be an option for chimpanzee trekking today, too.
To Kibale Forest
Today you head south to Kibale Forest. The drive is a scenic one and takes most of the day (seven to eight hours). There are several stops on the way, including one for a tasty picnic lunch. You'll arrive at the lodge or camp in time for drinks and dinner.
Chimp Trekking In Kibale
There is excitement in the air this morning as you set off on foot into Kibale Forest for a half day's trekking to see the chimpanzees. This is a wonderful experience and once you've found the chimpanzees (you'll probably hear them before you see them) you have roughly an hour to enjoy watching them.
Queen Elizabeth Np, Kazinga
You have a drive of about three to four hours today, taking you to Queen Elizabeth National Park. By the afternoon you'll reach the Kazinga Channel where you take a boat cruise, an excellent opportunity to sit back and watch wildlife in and by the water, and to admire the dozens of bird species.
Queen Elizabeth Np, Ishasha
Your journey continues, now heading south to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You'll reach camp after about three hours, for time to rest and have some lunch. Later you'll be whisked off on a game drive to witness the diverse wildlife of this area, which include tree-climbing lions, so make sure you have your camera ready!
Ishasha To Bwindi
You have a morning game drive in Ishasha before you set out to Bwindi. En-route there's the chance to visit a local community, for a privileged insight into local life. The drive takes two to three hours, not including stops.
Today you will trek to see the awe-inspiring mountain gorillas! This has got to be one of the most captivating and moving wildlife experiences you will ever have. Depending on whereabouts in Bwindi the family is found, the trek can take anything from half an hour to almost four hours. Less physically able people are allocated a place to visit the closer gorilla families.
Free Time At Buhoma Lodge
Today has been left free for you to do as you wish. One option is a second gorilla trek, another opportunity to spend time among these amazing animals. This needs to be booked and paid for in advance. Alternatively you might like to join a guide on a walk through the local village with chances to visit the school and a traditional healer. A guided walk to a waterfall in Bwindi Forest, and bird and butterfly watching are also popular past times, and you are welcome to relax and take life easy at Buhoma Lodge, maybe treating yourself to a visit to the spa. Excursions are payable locally.
Fly To Entebbe
On the final day you have breakfast at Buhoma Lodge and are then driven to Kihihi airport where you catch a flight to Entebbe, where this holiday ends.
