Day 1

Arrive At Ananda

You are met by a staff member from Ananda when you arrive at Dehradun airport in the foothills of the Himalayas. From here it's a scenic drive of around 40 minutes to the hotel. Your destination is truly impressive, located in the grounds of a Maharajah's palace with panoramic views over the Ganges River valley. Breathing the fresh mountain air you already begin to feel the health-bestowing properties of this special location. Your large room has an en-suite bathroom, a sitting area and a private balcony with views of the palace or lush gardens. Settle in and look forward to the days ahead and all the benefits they will bring.

Begin Your Programme

This morning your are waken with a delivery of hot tea and fresh fruit to kick start your day, as will be the case throughout your programme. Following a healthy breakfast you meet your wellness coordinator for an initial consultation and an introduction to your chosen programme. Your treatment then gets underway. Most courses are a combination of Ayurveda, yoga, meditation and exercise plus a special diet, all tailored to your requirements and with specific goals in mind. Throughout your treatment you have consultations as needed and your progress is monitored by an Ayurvedic doctor, with therapies amended as needed. Enjoy the different aspects of your treatment and before long you will start to feel the benefits.

A Typical Day At Ananda

Each day you take part in specially tailored activities as part of your selected course of treatment. Some programmes are comprehensive and take up most of your day, while others allow you time to take part in group yoga, fitness, and breathing and meditation class, and Vedanta (Hindu philosophy) lectures. Whichever programme you are following there are breaks for meals, with breakfast, lunch and dinner all included, nourishing meals based on the customised diet created for you. You also have time to appreciate the tranquil setting as you rest on the terrace, swim in the pool and stroll in the gardens where peacocks roam. On completion of the programme you receive a detailed debrief and lifestyle consultation, to enable you to continue the feel the benefits of your treatment in your everyday life.

Depart

Your programme has run its course and you are feeling revitalised and ready to take the health lessons and techniques you have learned over the past few days back home, to put them into practice in your day-to-day life. At the appropriate time you are driven back to the airport in Dehradun where the holiday ends.
