Day 1

Arrive at Arusha

When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met and driven to Arusha. In the heart of this town, you'll stay overnight at the Arusha Hotel. You can explore the town if you arrive early in the day, or make use of the hotel's pool and poolside snack bar. This evening you can choose to dine on site or stroll into town and take your pick of the restaurants there.

Day 2

To Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you will leave Arusha in your safari vehicle driven by the guide that will be with you for the rest of the safari. He'll make sure you have a good time and enjoy this first-class safari.
You start by driving to Lake Manyara National Park which is about 2 hours away. Here you'll have a game drive through this lush park with its soda lake which attracts flamingos and a myriad of other birds. The park is also known for its lions (tree-climbing at times!) and elephants. You end the day at your lodge high on the Rift Valley escarpment overlooking Manyara.

Day 3

To the Serengeti

Today you will head for the Serengeti. On the way you will pass by the Ngorongoro Crater which you'll visit properly on the way back. Dropping down to the plains from the Rift escarpment, you will stop to visit the Olduvai Gorge. This is a famous archaeological site where you can learn about early human development. You then continue on to the Serengeti where your game viewing continues in hopefully spectacular fashion!

Day 4

Game viewing in Serengeti National Park

Your first full day of game viewing in the Serengeti. Your driver/guide will take you out to spot wildlife in this reserve which is known for its profusion of wildlife. You should see huge herds of zebra, wildebeest and gazelle plus giraffe and buffalo. This is a good place to observe big cats, too, so look out for lion, leopard and cheetah. At the end of the day you'll be driven back to camp in time to shower and change and join the group for dinner around the campfire.

Not ready to go home?

Add time on the coast or elsewhere

Whilst the safari has ended, it's very easy to add on a few nights extra. Perhaps on Zanzibar or Mafia, or maybe taking in somewhere totally different such as going to see chimpanzees in the wild in Gombe or Mahale. Just talk to us for lots of ideas.
