Galapagos Islands holiday ideas experiences accommodation when to visit galapagos-islands map reviews

Holiday review by Mr. Jeremy Cocks

Date of trip: 08/04/2017
Number of people: 2
Country: Galapagos Islands

Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "A great holiday, exceeded our expectations. Seaman Journey was a great boat, and we loved our Eastern tour of the Galapagos islands."
Tribes Service: "You may recall that we had to change our non-changeable KLM flight, and incurred a penalty charge. Tribes recognised that this was their fault, and kindly agreed to deduct this charge from the cost of the holiday. Great service in that gesture, and all of our pre-holiday information was perfect. Other travellers seemed less prepared than us !"
Guides: "Other travellers we met had horror stories about being abandoned by their guides, lifts not turning up, having to pay for Ingala cards twice etc. All of our guides, lifts, connections were faultless, everything on time, no nasty surprises. Our Enchanted Expeditions guide went out of her way to ensure we checked into our Galapagos flight as effortlessly as possible."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "Our Galapagos guide went to great pains to ensure we did not disturb the wildlife, left no litter etc etc. Guides at Bella Vista also very knowledgeable."

Bellavista Cloud Forest Lodge
A really nice 2 days here. My only negative comment is that the Lodge is looking a little tired, and could do with a revamp.
Patio Andaluz
An excellent hotel - our double floor room was amazing, and an excellent restaurant.
La Casona de la Ronda
A good boutique hotel - only downside was that it is on quite a busy road (at least on Saturday nights). Our first night on arriving in Ecuador was a Saturday night at this hotel, therefore a bit of street noise made it hard to sleep.
Seaman Journey
Boat, crew and food all excellent. Our Eastern tour of the Galapagos was great - so many highlights, including Genovesa, Santa Fe, South Plaza and Espanola. 16 passengers on the boat was a perfect number.

Our Memories

"Too many highlights: snorkelling with turtles and sea lions at Santa Fe The boobies and frigate birds at the almost prehistoric Genovesa Watching albatross courtship ritual from 5 feet away in Espanola The amazing iguanas The humming birds of Bella Vista"
