Holiday review by Mr. David Graham
Name: Mr. David GrahamDate of trip: 20/05/2014
Number of people: 2
Country: Galapagos IslandsOverall level of Satisfaction
Tribes Overall: "Almost all the arrangements set up by Tribes worked well, with the exception of the Galapagos boat owner who did not contact us to notify us of the pick-up arrangements for the early morning pick-up for the flight to the Galapagos, which was poor service from them. The Galapagos were fabulous, and lived up to our expectations with regard to the wildlife."
Tribes Service: "Paul Cook at Tribes did a wonderful job in making all the arrangements, including a special dinner for my wife's birthday, and he deserves a medal. The documentation we received was clearly laid out, and communication with Tribes was excellent at all times. This was a very positive experience and we will use Tribes again in future."
Guides: "Gloria in Quito was excellent and very friendly. Magath on the Galapagos Legend was brilliant, despite a couple of awkward passengers (not us!). Eduardo at Iguassu in Brazil was wonderful - friendly, helpful and very accommodating."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "The Galapagos Legend seemed to take its responsibility towards the environment very seriously, and the guides even picked up the occasional litter along the way."
Accommodation
There should be a higher rating than "Excellent" for this superb hotel. Lovely rooms, great food, wonderful service and a fantastic location within the national park, with Iguassu falls across the private road from the hotel's entrance. Superb.
We had a lovely room towards the top of the building, though not suitable for any unfit people at that altitude. The staff were very good, and the hotel was superbly located for the old centre of Quito.
Ideal location across the road from the airport concourse, with quiet rooms and computers to allow check-in for an onward flight.
Our Memories
"Snorkelling with sea lions, turtles, diving boobies, penguins and sharks were all unforgettable experiences that can't be done anywhere else other than the Galapagos."
