Number of people: 2
Country: Galapagos IslandsOverall level of Satisfaction
Tribes Overall: "Surpassed in every respect!
Don't want to be identifiable if that's ok, not really wanted by police however.
"
Tribes Service: "Excellent is the word. Tribes put this together for us, having checked our preferences, and surpassed hopes and wishes in every respect."
Guides: "all 3 excellent, plus very calm safe drivers"
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "We seemed welcome everywhere we went in Ecuador, and no pressure from any salesperson or market trader at all, both mainland guides seemed proud to show us their country and pleased that we should come so far to visit it."
Accommodation
Mad Englishman creates Kenya safari style lodge deep in Cloud Forest. Should advise everybody to get up for 6:30am guide before breakfast as all birds flying in from forest at that time. You don't have to be a birdwatcher to be spellbound by the birdlife here.
What a place! A holiday in itself just to be there. Mad Englishman (different one) restores old Hacienda superbly, fills it with artefacts and Spanish/South American furniture, and creates amazing garden and grounds. Logs fires and hot water bottles. Humming bird at window box of bathroom on 1st morning!
Very nice, excellent location, bit noisy adjacent to dining area with groups off at 5am having breakfast, beautiful building, very nice staff and enormous bedroom.
Must surely be the best sort of boat to see Galapagos, 16 passengers only, luxury living, very comfortable sailing as proper design (rather than bigger boat or floating box)(probably should call it a ship or yacht not boat)
Our Memories
"Ecuador. We came for the Galapagos and now know that a little of Ecuador must be explored by anyone who has enough time."
