Tribes Overall: "Wonderful to see the rainforest. Heartbreaking to know it is the only remaining Pristine rainforest left in South America."
Tribes Service: "Paul Cook helped us enormously via the Internet and on the phone."
Guides: "William our guide was phenomenal at identifying wildlife for us and he looked after us exceptionally well.
Also Jerson, our guide in Cuzco was a mine of information and he escorted us on the Vistadome train. He was a nice person to be with. "
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "Going to Manu means that you are helping to protect the area and preserve it for the future."
Accommodation
Really loved it here. Got an upset tummy though I think from drinking a jug of iced lemon water by the swimming pool.
We had two dinners there as well.
I loved it so much but we weren't there long enough. Lovely rooms,(cabins)excellent food. Stunning surroundings. Needed another 2 days.
Stunning retreat set in lush tropical gardens. The early morning bird walk was fantastic, Hummingbirds by the dozen.
I thought this place was going to have the best accommodation but was a bit let down by the rooms, you are cut off from the outside when you are in your room because of blinds and although the dining and large sitting area is very impressive you feel cut off from the wildlife because you can't observe it easily from a comfortable chair. Food was the best of all the 3 lodges. The Mackaw clay lick was the highlight of the trip.
Shame we never saw one Giant Otter or a Wooley monkey.
So close to the airport, you only have to walk across the road to get there.
It was perfect.
Our Memories
"Seeing Manu rainforest in all it's glory was what I came here for. Humans are destroying the most precious places on earth.
Long may it survive."
"The journey into Manu rainforest is spectacular (around 8 hours) and was not the scary mountain edge drive I had been worried about. It is staggering to think that we saw around 100 different species of birds in a short space of time."
