Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "Our Bushcamp stays were wonderful, really felt like you were out in the wilds, but with all the facilities you need. We had fabulous wildlife sightings, including on the early morning walking safaris. The quality or the accommodation and food was exceptionally good throughout our stay."
Tribes Service: "Knowledgeable about the different bushcamps and lodges and ready to make endless changes as we changed our minds"
Guides: "Godfrey at Thornicroft made a huge effort to make sure we saw lions or leopards every day, though that sometimes involved long drives. Manda at Bilimungwe exceptionally informative and knowledgeable, and great on the walks. Both also gave us a good insight into local issues."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "All lodges seemed to have a good awareness of and commitment to environmental issues, in developing local staff, and being involved with the local community"

Bilimungwe Camp
Another great camp, with excellent on-site wildlife watching from the terraces of the lovely rooms and comfortable seating area. Really enthusiastic manager, and excellent guide, great walking safaris and up-close encounters
Mfuwe Lodge
Had exciting time watching the elephants walking through reception to reach their favourite wild mango tree. Watched a huge range of wildlife in the waterhole from our swimming pool.
Idyllic location, perfect accommodation open to the river, friendly and helpful staff made every effort to make sure we had a great stay
Lovely spot, beautiful accommodation with the bonus of an outdoor spa bath where you could cool down while watching the elephants. Lovely outdoor eating sitting and eating area with views across the river bed (dry when we were there, but still plenty of wildlife)
Thornicroft Lodge
Good value for money, location right next to the river, with wildlife strolling through the grounds at night. Enthusiastic guide who really pulls out the stops to find good wildlife viewing

Our Memories

"Our truck getting stuck in sand in a dry river bed while 9 hungry lions attacked a hippo less than 100m away, as night was falling and lightning lit up the scene. Managed to dig ourselves out then we were taken for a closer look! "
"Tracking lion prints through the bush with the reassurance of an excellent guide from the Bushcamp and an armed ranger from the National Parks service - and someone bringing up the rear with our morning tea and biscuits!"
