Tribes Overall: "Best holiday ever. All our internal travel went smoothly which is quite something for Africa. Everything that Tribes promised us happened and exceeded our expectations."
Tribes Service: "All our questions were very promptly answered and our trip was tailored to our requirements with no problems"
Guides: "Joseph and Rama from Sable Mountain Lodge were fantastic guides. Very knowledgeable on all the animals, birds, insects and plants that we saw. Very open when speaking about local customs and the problems the local people have."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "I believe that our visit helps to put money in the local economy and the park fees help to pay the rangers."
Accommodation
Rooms are quite small and no wardrobe. However, great central location, stunning building and staff were helpful when organising tours although we were aware they received kick backs from the tour guides.
Absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the tented bandas which was a great experience. Staff are all fantastic we loved the little touches such as fresh drinking water in our room every day and a cold flannel after a long safari. Food good overall but really enjoyed Africa style dinner.
Nice place to spend the night. I would highly recommend that you spend the night here before making the train journey to Kisaki. Otherwise I think it would be a very long journey from Europe to Sable Mountain Lodge.
Just the place to spend a couple of days relaxing after a few days safari. Beautiful setting, fantastic views and close to the turtle sanctuary which was brilliant.
Our Memories
"Really enjoyed taking the train from Dar er Salaam to kisaki. Met some lovely locals and were made to feel very welcome"
"Twenty minutes into our first game drive and we came upon a herd of elephant digging for water in a dry river bed. Magical!"
