Tribes Overall: "The trip had variety and covered a fairly large part of a huge country in three weeks. It gave a wonderful insight into a different culture."
Tribes Service: "Outstanding. Very willing to listen to requirements at booking stage and adaptable to meet our needs. Also quick responses to all queries. Changeiver from Simon to paul was seamless."
Guides: "All the guides were phenomenal. All the 'meetings and greetings' were on time. All the guides had excellent knowledge, a very good manner in putting over information; they couldn't do enough to please."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "Excellent"
Accommodation
Outstanding. An &Beyond hotel and although expensive it lived up to expectations. Great food, all inclusive, interesting cooking lesson. Wonderful outsid showe - all facilities one could want and more. Could have stayed longer.
This served its purpose in covering a large area of the country in a week. However, it is tired. There was no observation car as on other trains and this was sadly lacking. Also, toiletries are not replenished for each new trip. Having said that it was clean and comfortable and the steward couldn't do enough for us. Food also was good. You would not have known there were 105 people on the train. You were kept in much smaller groups and rarely met the others.
Tented camp very pleasent. No toiletries or hairdryer. Good to be supplied with mosquito repllent. The hot water bottles were very welcome. Food was excellent and we felt comfortable eating everything, which wasn't the case in some places.
Outstanding. A haven! The welcome here was the best. Brilliant location - had a fantastic view overlooking the Ghats. Could have stayed longer. Food excellent and the staff put themselves out to do whatever they could for us.
perfect for the first couple of days while getting acclimatized. An 'international' hotel but just what we needed. Food was excellent.
Fantastic rooms, quiet private balconies. Food OK. Service was so so.
