Number of people: 2
Country: Brazil

Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "All arrangements made by Tribes were excellent and any problems were at a local level"
Tribes Service: "Felt as though I was dealing with a friend, despite everything being dealt with largely by email, with a couple of phone calls"
Guides: "Everyone of them was excellent; they all spoke English well, they were all very caring and aware of my husband's limitations, and all very informative"
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "We learnt a great deal about wildlife and the environment. We had some interesting walks in the jungle."

Cristalino Lodge
The accommodation here was superb, although you have to be ready for the lack of electricity, from 10pm through till lunchtime. The atmosphere is fairly intense, with several researchers based there, and a level of discussion that could be intimidating. The food is 'camp cooking', plentiful and fairly varied
Jaguar Ecological Reserve
This is extremely friendly, and more fun to stay in. However it was very hot, and our first night we were given a very basic room with nothing but a fan and two beds! However the next room was a great improvement. Food was similar to Cristalino, though slightly better.
Pousada Arte do Urquijo
Excellent position in the town.Very good breakfast - and afternoon tea. Room very small, with a lovely view.
Pousada Naturalia
Loved it - superb view (climb to get there!), lovely atmoshere, excellent breakfast, and very helpful staff who checked each day what your activites were, and gave masses of good advice.
