Tribes Overall: "Complicated itinerary but all transfers went according to plan including meeting up with our son for the last week. A memorable holiday."
Tribes Service: "Our rather complicated requirements were taken on board and resulted in a tailor made holiday which took all our wishes into account"
Guides: "The guides attached to the lodges were all superb and made every effort to maximise opportunities to see the wildlife."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "The lodges we stayed at were owned and run by local people with a deep commitment to conservation and responsible tourism - hopefully we will have helped by staying with them"


Araras Eco Lodge
Room comfortable - food good with afternoon tea and cake. Enthusiastic guiding to give greatest possible opportunities for wildlife spotting. Swimmimg pool appreciated
Cristalino Lodge
VIP bungalow very comfortable. Excellent, enthusiastic guide. Wonderful position with varied trails and 2 impressive wildlife watching towers
Guapi Assu Bird Lodge
Comfortable room - owners very welcoming. Superb and knowledegable guide - excellent birds despite rainy weather. Food excellent
San Martin Hotel
Large hotel so a little soulless but made up by being in wonderful grounds and next to the Bird Park - an enjoyable half day visit

Time: GMT -3 hours

Flight time: Most flights go to Sao Paulo but some airlines have direct flights to Rio de Janeiro, and to North-eastern Brazil. British Airways and TAM have direct flights from London and many European carriers also offer flights to Brazil.

Language: Portuguese is the official language. Spanish and English are understood quite widely.

Visas: Not required for British nationals.

Health: There are no compulsory vaccinations, except yellow fever if you are coming from an infected area. Malaria prophylactics are recommended in the rainforest.
