Accommodation
A very well organised camp which retains a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for an amazing safari experience. Service is superb - from the moment you arrive you feel SO well looked after! Staff are very well trained and fully attentive. Staying in the beautiful bandas allows you to be close to nature and fully experience the atmosphere. The food is an excellent mix of local and western dishes. It is so varied and superbly presented - you feel in awe of the chef and small catering team who manage to produce such amazing dishes (many served in magical outdoor locations) when the nearest town is over 3 hours away! Staff tailor the game drive experience to your wishes where possible and we were able to see 22 types of animal on our 5 night stay. Can only give massive praise to Mwagusi, it was a great place to enjoy our 25th wedding anniversary and the staff even made us a cake and cooked us a special meal!
An attractive hotel, perfect for an overnight stay before/after a long flight. Very well resourced - great to have both a bath and shower available. We enjoyed a very good quality evening meal and breakfast.
Very interesting and attractive ex-sultan's palace. The amount and steepness of the steps to access the rooms and rooftop restaurant, in particular, is foreboding! The room was equipped with air conditioning but the bed was uncomfortable and broke during the night! We had a good quality evening meal but choices were limited (unable to supply some of the menu) and breakfast was adequate. Great location for exploring Stonetown but expect to get lost many, many times!!
