Country: Ecuador

Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "Excellent"
Tribes Service: "Except for the travel arrangements - see box above. Small point but it would have been good to have been told that no alcohol is served anywhere in Quito after 4 pm every Sunday."
Guides: "Alex and the drivers Ivan and Marco were wonderful in and around Quito, as were the two fantastic guides on the Letty. They were brother and sister, Ivan and Karina Lopez. Maybe a different i.e. 4 wheel drive vehicle would have been better for Cotopaxi."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "Tourism is of growing importance to Ecuador. The Galapagos cruise operator in Galapagos are very much aware of the environment and encourage conservation in every way. "

Hacienda Hato Verde
It was interesting staying there and we were made welcome. There is not actually much to do there although we went for a walk down a farm road. The environment is not particularly scenic with industry not far away. We would have preferred to stay in the Cotopaxi National Park if possible. Tribes Response - Unfortunatly there is no good quality accommodation available within the park.
Patio Andaluz
A lovely hotel with excellent food. Some bedrooms better than others.
MY Letty
It was great and fit for purpose. The cabins are necessarily small but comfortable. The sun deck could do with more furniture. I had not realised that I had booked the 'worst' cabins (Iguana Deck) with virtually not view out and bunks rather than beds.
