Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "Good"
Tribes Service: "Poor"
Guides: "Excellent"
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "The whole ethic was examplary. All the hotels/lodges and guides had the best ethical standards. We felt that we were experiencing the real Nepal and doing something positive for the local communities wherever we went."

Fishtail Lodge
Lovely gardens just a pity we never saw the mountains as it was cloudy!
Gaun Ghar
Nice setting but beds on the hard side, very basic. Again we never saw the view so despite its location we were disappointed. Interesting village as you do see how the locals live.
Hotel Parkland
Staff were really helpful and given we were both ill at this point very attentive.Food was poor though, buffet very similar both for lunch and dinner. We did not do any elephant rides as both too ill but enjoyed the canoe trip on the river wish it has been longer.Did see one rhino,s head as it was bathing in the river.
Tiger Tops Karnali Lodge Bardia
Lovely location, rooms large and comfortable, even with hot water bottles put in your bed for the cold nights. Campfire in the main Round Tharu style dining room very welcome. Local guides from the villages very knowledgable.Highlight of our stay was thr raft trip down the river with the 'picnic lunch' which was a full scale Nepali meal served hot on proper plates while we sat on blankets in the shade. Even a rest room (bamboo screen, round a latrine with toilet paper provided) and disinfectant water, soap and towels to wash your hands. Much better then the toilets at Kat amndu airport! Then the chance to wash an elephant by joining it in the river amazing!
Kantipur Temple House
Really enjoyed the whole ethos of ths have of peace in noisy, dirty ,choatic Katmandu. Again staff very helpful, beds comfortable, hot showers worked well, and nice food. Would definitely recommend this as a good base in the city, its near the Thamel touristy part with loads of shops and restaurants and if you get lost the locals will always help, with a friendly smile.
