Very comfortable lodges, pleasantly furnished. The activities and local area were very interesting (we loved Bateshwar and the fair and the river trip, and we were amazed by Ater Fort.
A fairly standard modern hotel, but perfectly acceptable.
We were disappointed not to have a river view room, though it was easy enough to get up to the roof or communal balcony if we wanted to look at the goings on on the Ganges. The food was tasty, but the staff were over attentive; we felt we were constantly being watched, and they kept topping up our plates after every other mouthful, which got very annoying!
Beautifully restored building, great location, good food and friendly staff.
Very friendly, helpful staff, good food, comfortable rooms and a fantastic location. The lodge makes good use of the surroundings.
The manager was new, and the welcome did not feel as personal as other places we stayed. The information given to us in the booklet was out of date: they no longer have a tented camp, and are not allowed to do elephant safaris in the park. The food was excellent, and the guides very knowledgable. We did not see a tiger, but not through lack of effort on the part of the guide. I think the chances of seeing one this time of year are remote.
Particularly good considering the location in central Kathmandu. The welcome was very good and the staff were very helpful. The food was good, but we had better elsewhere, which was the only reason I did not give a better grade.
