Casa Andina Premium Cusco
We stayed three times in this hotel and it was very good. Our guides, Maria/Luis, only recommended expensive restaurants, but found some excellent and very cheap places to eat which we enjoyed a lot.
Cock of the Rock Lodge
We had an exciting time getting here along a road that has to be experienced to be understood. We had to leave our driver with the luggage due to a landslide and walk the last two or three kilometres, arriving as it was getting dark. Not the easiest when your torch is in your luggage and you can't find the matches. But it was great, though we actually had better sightings of the Cock of the Rock while at Inkaterra Machu Picchu, including two females.
Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo
This was in a class of its own. I should downgrade everything else to give a better idea of what excellent means. Superb surroundings, wonderful birds, a complimentary Pisco Sour and tea available and extreme comfort. This really was worth paying a lot for.
Manu Wildlife Centre
The Macaw Clay leak was a real treat.
Wyndham Costa del Sol Lima Airport
Excellent choice. Our first complimentary Pisco Sour. I am now an addict
Sol y Luna Hotel
Another really special place. We found stables and horses here, but only as we were leaving. I would have loved to ride somewhere, rather than walk round a market, but again, I suspect we should have done our homework better. Nick said he asked for more nature than culture....
