Holiday review by Mr Phillip Haywood

Date of trip: 24/08/2013
Number of people: 2
Country: Zambia

Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "Excellent"
Tribes Service: "Tracy was very helpful. "
Guides: "Guides at Chongwe and Potato Bush were excellent. Guides at Wasa and Shoebill were good but their English was not good enough to explain all the flora and fauna. All knowledgeable and responsible though."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "I suspect that Wasa and Shoebill were more benficial to local people than Chongwe and Potato bush"

Chongwe River Camp
They did everything to make the stay enjoyable. So welcoming. Food and facilities fantastic. So much on offer to do from walks, boat trips, drives and night drives. Sam was a great guide who did all he could to find the wildlife. It is outside just outside the park so drives did not go that far into the park. You now have to pay $15 per person for landing at Royal airstip which we were not expecting.
Potato Bush Camp
As for Chongwe they were excellent and offered a very personal service. It only had 4 tents/lodges so there were only a few other guests to share experiences at meal times. It did however mean we had a guide to ourselves who could focus on our needs only.
Royal Livingstone Hotel
A lovely place to end the trip. Good servie excpet they were slow at evening meals. Great that it is so close to the Falls.

Our Memories

"Wading through the swamps at Bangweulu to see shoebill. Daylight viewing of leopard stationary by side of tree then walking to fallen tree and lying on this tree in classic leopard pose Lions and cubs from less than 10 metres"
"Elephants walking in the Lower Zambezi camps within 2 metres of the tents. Swimming in Devil's Pool at Victoria falls. Rainbows in Vic Falls Sundowners on Zambezi river "
