Holiday review by Christina

Date of trip: 03/07/2019
Number of people: 2
Country: Costa Rica

Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "We had a fantastic time! We loved Costa Rica as a country, the food and people were all great. Everyone was extremely welcoming and we are already thinking about going back. It exceeded our expectations! "
Tribes Service: "Anita was very helpful and promptly answered any questions we had before we left. "
Guides: "The guides we had were fantastic. They were very knowledgable and enthusiastic. Many of them were biologists or worked in that field. They were friendly and always open to questions. They did their best to see as much as possible. The bus drivers were all friendly too and our pick ups worked like clock work, so well organised. "
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "Many people thanked us for visiting the country. Many of the guides talked about sustainability and how our money towards park entrance fees etc contributed to maintaining the environment. It was really interesting to gain knowledge about the history of each place and how the environment has changed and developed. "

Alta Hotel
This was a lovely hotel with a very nice restaurant. The interior was very nicely decorated inside their very impressive building. The pool could have done with a clean (the reason I haven’t selected excellent) but it was a nice relaxed space to sunbath in before heading to the airport.
Evergreen Lodge
Lovely grounds with lots of animals. The accommodation was clean and the staff were friendly. The buffet style meals meant there was plenty of choice. We loved the bar that overlooked the river.
Nayara Hotel Spa and Gardens
This hotel was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The complex was amazing. It was very well maintained and there were several walking trails with plenty of wildlife to see. Our room was fantastic and we were very sorry to leave when the time came. The bars and restaurants were excellent, the presentation, food and waiting staff made going an enjoyable experience. There wasn’t anything we feel this hotel could improve on.
Andaz Papagayo Resort
This hotel was impressive. The view from our room was fantastic and overlooked the sea. There were 3 restaurants to choose from. The seafood restaurant was certainly our favourite with very professional staff and high quality food. We felt the other restaurants were slightly over priced compared with the quality of some of the other places we stayed. The pools at the hotel were gorgeous and we had a lovely time relaxing.
Hotel Belmar
This was a lovely small hotel. The views from our room and restaurant were beautiful! The food here was excellent. It was all so fresh and mainly supplied from their own farm. The staff were very friendly. There was an enjoyable trail next to the lodge and a pond to sit and relax near. A great place to stay.
We loved this accommodation. The wildlife we saw at the complex was amazing, sloths, toucans, hummingbirds to name a few. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Our cabin was clean and well presented. The main restaurant was closed but the one at the front of the properly provided a limited menu with basic food.

Our Memories

"We loved all of the trip! The wildlife we saw was the ultimate highlight. We were so lucky with what we saw and each place was different. My favourite was the two toed sloth and it’s baby. The food was great and we loved experiencing local food such as Gallo Pinto. "
