Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "Having never been on a safari before we didn't really know what to expect. However the whole experience was first class. The camp managers and, without exception, all of the staff in all of the locations were excellent. The attention to detail was amazing as was the quality of the accommodation and food."
Tribes Service: "All of the above and I have to say Tracy managed to interpret very well what we wanted even though we didn't know ourselves at the outset. She was also very gracious and patient in putting up with my inane questions."
Guides: "The guides are central to the purpose of being there and the two guides we had, Apollo in Jongomero and Gracious in Siwandu were fantastic. They both really knew their stuff and it goes without saying that they knew the territory and where to take us. However they must be blessed with 360 degree bionic vision. Every day, as well as driving and entertaining us, they were constantly pointing out myriad things we would never have seen without them. They are both charming and engaging personalities and were a pleasure to spend time with. 10 out of 10 for both. I should also add that the other guides we had on the bush walk and on boat trips were also excellent."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "It struck me, when I was there, that the way the camps are constructed and run and the sensitivity given to the environment around them by the people in the camps was very impressive. At Ras Kutani especially they not only talk a good game but we saw first hand how they engage with the local community in the local villages and schools and with wildlife consevation in the surrounding area. They put great store in helping the local community and wildlife and I think it genuinely inspires their visitors to do the same. It is obvious that the company has a real ethos of helping local people and we heard from many staff at all levels how the company took them in and trained them and gave them opportunities to progress through the company through hard work. We saw a lot of optimism from the staff throughout and it shone through in the level of service."

Jongomero Camp
As the "brochure" said a real feeling of remoteness. A stunning location, and amazing wildlife, at times literally on your doorstep. The Ruaha River is just idyllic.
Ras Kutani
A great place to unwind and relax amongst stunning surroundings. Close enough to local villages to give the visitor a glimpse of everyday Tanzania. Very thoughtful attention to wildlife conservation through the turtle rescue and hatching programme with Sea Sense.
Fantastic location and amazing wildlife both on land and in the lakes around the camp.
Southern Sun Dar es Salaam
Absolutely fine for a one night stopover before going out to the first camp.

Our Memories

"The amazing array of animals and birds we saw at very close quarters . As I've said we didn't know what to expect but it certainly surpassed our expectations. The kids in the local village school at Ras Kutani. I would certainly recommend anybody visiting there to spend some time there."
