Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "Everything about my trip to Tanzania was wonderful and went way beyond my expectations. "
Tribes Service: "My consultant was Christine and she was always prepared to give good advice and any help or information that I needed. She seemed very familiar with & knowledgeable about Tanzania. Overall, my experience with Tribes was a positive one. "
Guides: "Our guide, Raymond, was just fantastic. He was very warm & friendly and knowledgeable about all aspects of Tanzania, the wildlife & landscapes and the people. He was remarkable in his ability to spot animals and was especially knowledgeable about all the birdlife found in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. He was very respectful of our requests and always had interesting stories to tell. I learned a lot from Raymond and will always be grateful that he took the time to explain things to me."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "I'm not entirely sure that my going on safari benefited or helped the local people, except by contributing to the local economy. As far as being exposed to the local people (including Maasai Mara) and their culture, there wasn't much interaction except at the wilderness camps, where I found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. I was able to interact with some of them by trying out a few words of Swahili and listening to them explain what their lives away from the camps are like. It would be nice if there had been more interaction with the local staff such as casual talks about the local customs, animals and environment. Perhaps an informal talk before or after dinner could be offered in future? If my financial contribution in any way helps preserve the environment for the wildife and landscapes then I am happy I was able to help. "

Bougainvillea Safari Lodge
We actually stayed at Marera Valley Lodge near Karatu. It was a beautiful place with lovely staff. The meals were delicious (and I was able to enjoy vegetarian meals as well!) and the pool was refreshing after a day out in the bush. The landscaping was lovely with beautiful flowers and shrubs and the room was perfect.
Wildlife Camps
We stayed at Ndutu Wilderness Camp for 2 nights and it was fantastic. The camp leader, Claudian, and all his staff were very welcoming and informative. The service was excellent, from the hot showers to the cold beer to the fine dining. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful, friendly and kind. We stayed at Serengeti Wilderness Camp for just one night and, again, the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The food was fantastic and overall, it was a great place to stay. I would definitely stay at the camps again. There was something about sleeping in a tent in the bush that made it just that much more real!
The African Tulip
Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. And, one young man was able to figure out how to connect my phone to the wifi so that was very helpful! Breakfast was very nice and the lodge itself was lovely.

Our Memories

"I loved seeing my first elephant and lion in the wild. And, I had hoped to see a leopard and was rewarded with a fine viewing on the day before I departed. The Ngorongoro Crater was especially special and I just felt that the whole experience there was magical. Raymond, our guide, was fantastic and he made the trip more interesting with his vast knowledge about the area. It was a real pleasure to be in his company for the trip. The wilderness camps were also amazing and I found the staff to be especially friendly and made me feel very welcome, which meant a lot to me."
