Holiday review by Mrs. Rachel Taylor

Date of trip: 25/07/2018
Number of people: 4
Country: Namibia

Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "We had a fabulous time and will take many amazing memories from it - from the people, to the landscapes, to the food and to the spectacular animals we were lucky enough to observe. Thank you Tribes and Chris, in particular!"
Tribes Service: "Excellent"
Guides: "All excellent, save the one at Le Mirage, hence rating moved to 'good' - we may as well have driven ourselves, given that he didn't seem to want to be guiding - was more of a driver who didn't really want to make any effort with us. Craven was our guide at Safarihoek, Mike at Chobe, Edwin & Chris at 'Under One Botswana Sky' and Sea & Isiah at Oddballs. Guide at Le Mirage was Presley."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "We gave tips to all the staff, so would assume this is spent in the local environment? Wildlife was protected and treated respectfully when on our guided safari elements of the holiday - which, perhaps, compared to the some of the self-drive behaviour which we observed ... So, by being guided, we felt this was more beneficial to the wildlife."

Chobe Elephant Camp
We loved it here and had a fabulous guide - Mike. It's a great location, we saw so many amazing things here and learned lots from Mike.
Rra Dinare
We actually stayed at their new lodge, rather than Rra Dinare - the new lodge being called Under One Botswana Sky. The lodge was really luxurious and we loved it! There are four lodges within this Eastern Delta reserve and they do work in conjunction with each other - so if you spot an animal which will be of interest to others, you can count on at least three other vehicles turning up to see it. Sometimes this didn't always seem quite right in terms of the animals....
Swakopmund Guest House
Functional guesthouse - perfect for our needs.
House on Olof Palme
functional guesthouse in Windhoek for when we landed in the evening and didn't want to drive until the next morning. Clean & ensuites to all bedrooms.

Our Memories

"We saw lots of black rhinos in Etosha Heights and also a few in Etosha - that was special. Also witnessed a leopard and its cubs feeding in Chobe - from about 5 metres away - an amazing sight. The kids also LOVED their skydiving and sand boarding in Swakopmund! Climbing up the spectacular dunes and, subsequently, running down them in the Namib Naukluft NP was great fun and amazing to see."
