Tribes Overall: "Our holiday exceeded our expectations! We were nervous about visiting South Africa, but came away absolutely loving it. "
Tribes Service: "We booked this trip quite a while ago, so I have been in touch with Tracy for many months. As you can imagine, there have been many emails between me and her! She was always helpful, accommodating and prompt. I inundated her with questions about crime, safety, snakes, etc, and Tracy only ever worked to put our worries to rest and make us feel comfortable. "
Guides: "All of our guides were excellent. For a day and half in Cape Town, we were guided by Paul. He was exceptional and always went over and above to make sure we were comfortable and happy. Anton from was so amazing. He is so knowledgeable and helpful - we all learned so much. We also enjoyed getting to know him and his staff at Umkhumbi - by the end, we felt like family! We would highly recommend Anton to others."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "Very beneficial, particularly the KwaZulu Natal part of the trip. Anton's conservation focus was an ongoing theme and taught us a lot about South Africa and the animals that inhabit the area. "
Accommodation
Another one we did not want to leave! Felt like family. Food was excellent and kid-friendly. Very attentive staff.
Our Memories
"Some specific moments are our township tour that Tracy organize. Our guide, Wendele, was exceptional. We were hesitant about a township tour as we did not want to appear voyeuristic. There are large tour buses going to the townships and we did not want that. The company Tribes recommends smaller one, with being the only ones on the tour- and Wendele was from the township and still lives there. He was able to make the experience so meaningful because of his knowledge and experience. We didn't feel voyeuristic because of this.
We also really enjoyed kayaking and snorkelling in Kosi Bay as well as our game drive at Hlhluwe Umfolzi."
