Tribes Overall: "We had a wonderful time! The safari was brilliant - we saw more than we’d expected. It was amazing to get so close to a pride of lions! The beach stay on Zanzibar was also outstanding. A beautiful spot with lovely staff.
Thank you for arranging such a brilliant, exciting, fascinating holiday for us!"
Tribes Service: "Tracy was great at providing information and knew loads about the area. I thought the package she came up with really reflected what I told her about our interests."
Guides: "Our safari guide, Joseph, made the trip for us. He was amazingly knowledgeable about the habitats and animals and an excellent driver too. He is clearly very passionate about what he does."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "There was definitely an eco conscious attitude in most of the places we stayed."
Accommodation
Pongwe beach is idyllic! Immaculately kept with gorgeous white sands, plenty of shade, good sun beds & a clean pool.
The staff appeared out of nowhere to offer drinks, a smile and Swahili lesson! They couldn’t have been more charming!
We loved the bushbabies and forgave them for waking us every night with their raucous cackling.
The restaurant was good - although we would have welcomed more Zanzibari options.
Amazing place with stunning views. We loved the banda! The outdoor bathroom was interesting (!) and a bit of a challenge at night! The banda itself was comfortable and private. We enjoyed the starry skies and nocturnal animal/insect sounds. On our last night a lion and some elephants got into a confrontation at the dried up river below. Too dark to see - but what a racket!
The staff were lovely - very attentive - and the food was good and plentiful!
Our Memories
"So many!
Going shopping with our charming driver for clothes in a market when our luggage didn’t arrive!
All of the safari! We hardly saw another vehicle in Selous and saw so much!
Visiting the Maasai village near Sable Mountain. Our guide - and the chief - gave us a real insight into their way of life - and the children were a delight!
