Holiday review by Mrs Deborah Daplyn

Date of trip: 26/02/2013
Number of people: 2
Country: Nepal

Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "It wasn\'t quite up to the standards of our last 2 holidays but they were absolute stunners, so it would have been difficult. We felt a little too over organised. Trekking was the best bit, the trails wre great, acommodation as expected and our guide was superb."
Tribes Service: "I will speak to Paul on the telephone but a few details were incorrect. The main thing we would have liked to know was that we needed am armed guard to go bird watching outside Kathmandu. Had we known in advance, we would not have included this in our trip."
Guides: "Amman was excellent throughout, knowledgeable, patient, empathetic and fun. Bishnu was brilliant in Chitwan, his knowledge of the birdlife was awesome. Ram on the final birdwatch, we felt a little sorry for as he was clearly working completely out of his normal habitat and it showed...however I hope he got to learn some birds too!"
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "A lot of effort was put into being green and local people/businesses used throughout"

Gaun Ghar
The only thing to change here would be the plumbing! When the electricity goes out, you can anly get hot water out of the shower, which was actually scalding. Surely you design it so you can only get a cold feed for safety!
Hotel Parkland
The palce was fine but have stayed in much nicer and more inspiring safari lodges around the world. Nothing specifically wrong, just boring. Staff were very good however
Mountain Lodges
Exactly as expected. Basic but good food and comfortable. The view in Ghandruk was perfect
Kantipur Temple House
The road leading to it is a little scary but the hotel itself was excellent. Food very good, service excellent and the situation was very nice as it was away from the main area of Thamel and quieter at night

Our Memories

"Lunch at Australia camp, eating noodles watching a perfect panorama of snow capped peaks in brilliant sunshine"
"Early morning bird watching from Tadepani, watching the sunrise and hit each snow capped peak with the heady aroma of Daphne in the air"
