Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "We went in search of Tigers and we were lucky enough to be successful in that search."
Tribes Service: "Paul did a great job in managing our changing flight availability, and in hindsight the reversed schedule was possibly preferable."
Guides: "The naturalist guides of the Pug Dundee group were excellent. They had a clear knowledge of the environment and the animal behaviour in order to maximise the chance of that elusive sighting. The guides at Tiger Trails also had a strong knowledge, the one negative was that they didn't have sufficient to accompany all vehicles so on occasion you were left at the mercy of the park guides whose experience varied. All the driving was very good."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "Two of the lodges provide you with a refillable water bottle (something others could learn from to reduce plastic) after all you drink a lot when temperatures hit 40+. Vegetables grown on site. Also even though the parks were busy, the animals didn't seem too disturbed by the number of vehicles. Indeed in Pench access via a quieter gate was a major benefit."

Kanha Earth Lodge
Although the busiest park, the lodge is situated far enough away from the entrance to give you a peaceful feel. Our naturalist guide (Harpreet) was extremely professional and knowledgeable about the park and it's animals. Food was great, main lodge building was well stocked and the lodge had the best pool. Another plus here were the films and presentations in the evenings before dinner.
Pench Tree Lodge
Everything about this lodge was fabulous. I imagine it will only get better as the grounds develop as you can clearly see it has just been built. The room was spacious and decorated to a high standard. The food was delicious, and plentiful. The location also has the benefit that you get to drive through local villages on the way to the park (seeing daily life). Our naturalist guide (Mahesh (spelling?)) while new to Pench was very experienced as a guide and this told in his approach and as a fellow photographer he understood the importance of being the correct side of an animal.

Our Memories

"Encountering a male tiger 500m inside the gate and sitting watching him groom was an unexpected treat. Maya performed her duty at Tadoba and seeing her interacting with her cubs was a privilege. The food was amazing at all three lodges. Pench Tree Lodge was the standout and when the chef asked each evening there was no hesitation that we would be eating Indian food the subsequent day. The guides are also very patient. They must feel under extreme pressure to provide a sighting and yet they're is little they can do when the conditions are not in their favour. The Oberoi was luxurious, especially with an upgrade to a suite."
