Country: TanzaniaOverall level of Satisfaction
Tribes Overall: "Well organised visit sadly let down by KLM bumping our Amsterdam connection to Manchester by 6 hours
"
Tribes Service: "1 minor problem with the transfer documents which was instantly corrected. I firmly believe that when there is a problem that is when you find out how good an organisation really is. As I say the response was instantaneous. "
Guides: "Alex at Ruarha River Lodge was fantastic. Knowledgeable, gentlemanly, safe and enthusiastic. Highly recommended I am a terrible backseat driver but felt completely safe even 3 feet from a pride of lions."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "I was able to offer dental advice and website links to the locals in Unguga and to the team in Ruaha .I also left information with them to disseminate to the local school and their villages."
Accommodation
Stonetown is a rather humid and damp place. The staff were great and the room was really beautiful but smelled rather damp. The bathroom needed some attention .Breakfast on the roof terrace was very pleasant.
As we were the only couple here we felt very spoiled. The lodges were fabulous .The service and food were excellent the chef even cooked a traditional Swahili meal for us at our request. The manager was very pleasant and the pool area was also very pleasant. The addition of a colony of monkeys was very charming.
Our Memories
"Flying in a light aircraft over Tanzania was amazing. Ruaha national park and the river lodge was spectacular. The end of the rainy season had left the area unexpectedly green. The weather was perfect only getting really hot between 1 and 3pm.
The wildlife was in fabulous condition and actually having more grass made animal spotting more fun as you could really see how they could blend in.
Spectacular location."
