Country: Galapagos IslandsOverall level of Satisfaction
Tribes Overall: "A good balance, pleased we didn't try to visit the Amazon within this time frame as it would have been too much to take in."
Tribes Service: "Apart from one issue which was at Quito airport where it was not easy to find the boat representatives as they were not indicated on the sheet provided by Tribes.Tribes Comment: The boat representative uses two different names which can cause some confusion - apologies for any confusion caused."
Guides: "Generally excellent. There was just 1 guide out of 4 whose knowledge could not be faulted but who didn't have much empathy."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "Good"
Accommodation
Wonderful location, great staff & guides but building & facilities slightly 'tired'. It lacked a welcoming communal area that people were encouraged to use apart from the dining area.
We are novices to 'birding' but Luis our guide introduced us to over 85 different birds in 2 days! Comment from Tribes: I'm not sure what happened here as there is a social area right at the front of the whole complex called the Trogon's Lounge. It is a cozy place with plenty of space for sitting in chairs and sofa with reading materil and direct views over the feeders. Also there are 4 new rooms which are superior rooms which are bigger than the standard and have big beds and great views.
Fabulous location, welcoming staff, comfortable accommodation, exceptional shared areas and delicious food. NB we think we had a deluxe room but chatting with other guests it sounds as though some of the 'standard' rooms may be a bit small.
A good variety of activities, even for those not riding.
Maria went the extra mile when I had a dental emergency & couldn't have been more helpful.
Good accommodation, food & location, friendly staff.
Would recommend the half day guided tour of Quito.
Eric was great! Captain & crew couldn't have been more welcoming & the food amazing given the limitations of a galley on a boat!
Galapagos lived up to expectations.
