Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "it surpassed out expectations. It was just an awesome trip and we have been on a lot of safaris"
Tribes Service: "This was the first time we travelled with Tribes and we 'll definitely be back."
Guides: "Chobe Elephant Lodge - driver was Innocent and he was good Shinde - Sam was our driver and we could not have asked for a better person, both professionally as a guide/driver and on a personal level. He catered to our very wish and did everything in his power to ensure we had a great time. I actually had tears in my eyes when it was time to go to Kanana. Both my husband and I could not praise him enough. Kanana - Owner was our guide/driver. His animal knowledge was great but his driving skills left quite a bit to be desired. Someone should teach him how to use lower gear box when driving off road "
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "all the camps were very environmentally aware and did all they could to protect it"

Kanana Camp
The camp is good but nowhere near as good as Shinde. The only thing that was better was that electricity was on all night (they do have solar power though) and having fans in the tents helped enormously. Our driver was good but someone should teach him how to drive off road. Also the atmosphere in the camp was not as pleasant/cosy as in Shinde. We had the impression that everybody was simply doing their job and generally the staff did not care too much what clients wanted. Shame.
Shinde Camp
I simply cannot find words to say how wonderful the camp was. The camp had a real family atmosphere and you really felt everyone did their best to cater to your very wish. The tents were great but it would be good to have electricity all night long to use the ceiling fan. The electricity was turned off at 10.30pm (bedside lamps and bathroom lights worked all night) and came back just before 5am. The nights were very hot and it was rather uncomfortable to sleep. I asked Walter if it's possible to keep it longer and he moved the switch off to 11pm but it just was not enough. I appreciate they don't have solar power but they need to do something to make guests more comfortable at night. All the staff, including senior management, were great and mixed with the guests all the time to provide a real home from home feeling. We cannot thank everyone, who works at the camp, enough but our special thanks go to Renee, Walter, Angie and Sam. We will be back.
Chobe Elephant Camp
it was an OK lodge but nothing too special. It served the purpose; one thing that was good was that chalets have air conditioning. The drives were not as interesting as in Shinde and Kanana but I appreciate the drives ere limited to tracks only (basically off roading was not allowed)

Our Memories

"everything but the best was Shinde lodge. It's a stunning location, the people were fantastic and we felt like being at home. The wildlife was great, we have seen 7 different species of animals that we have not seen before (and we go on various safaris every year). We have seen animal behaviours that, again, we have not seen before and the delta landscape was fantastic. While at Shinde lodge we took lunch with us every day to stay out for longer and on our last day Renee and Walter (manager and his deputy) surprised us by a stunning lunch in the bush, including table with a while tablecloth, proper cutlery and glasses. It was a very touching moment for us as we were very happy to have cold meats, and fruit of the bonnet of the car - as indeed we are used to on every safari we've ever been on. Sundowners were great, as indeed were the sunsets."
