Tribes Overall: "The holiday was the best we have had and we have had a few in the last five years! It lived up to our expectations and more. We are active people so the thought of being on a relatively small cruise ship was slightly worrying as we wondered how we would occupy ourselves. We need not have worried. Every day was packed with the excitement of another tour on an island or snorkelling. If you wanted a rest you could, but we didn't!"
Tribes Service: "The booking process was excellent throughout from first phone call to setting off. We received all possible information required. We compared our information with other travellers on the trip. Our surpassed them all."
Guides: "The guide David was absolutely excellent, had a great sense of humour. We were transported on land where necessary in the local transport(from the airport) which was fine. We used a small bus which was carefully driven considering the road in the area. David's knowledge of his subject was also excellent. He was able to respond to any questions with a smile."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "David did inform us of the environmental issues and the tours are controlled in such a way that areas are not crowded with visitors so as to have an minimal impact on the envronment. It was superbly managed."
Accommodation
A very good hotel in the right part of Ecuador. The staff were excellent, very helpful with local information. I would recommend it to all.
Well maintained and staffed. We had a good cabin with excellent views. The staff were superb. The ship most travels in the evening and during sleeping hours, one should be prepared for slightly rough seas on occasions.
Our Memories
"I had promised perhaps a bit silly really that my wife may have the opportunity to swim with penguins, as Paul had mentioned this to me. She was excited at the thought, and sure enough one day whilst snorkelling, I was kayaking! she saw 4 penguins dart past her and she was recording on camera at the time. You can even hear her whoops of delight as the pass by on the video. "
