Holiday review by Mrs. Patricia Pitt

Date of trip: 03/01/2017
Number of people: 2
Country: Costa Rica

Overall level of Satisfaction

Tribes Overall: "Good"
Tribes Service: "Good"
Guides: "Most guides were good. Marco in Tortuguero was particularly knowledgable and entertaining."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "Good"

Alta Hotel
Poor position. 14 dollars for a main pasta meal which was very small and over priced. I am 60, 5ft 3ins and 8 stone and it was barely enough for me.
Evergreen Lodge
Good accommodation. Food rather basic.
Bahia del Sol
Well set up hotel. Service rather slow at times. Not enough sunshades....only 3 in shade all day.
Lomas del Volcan
Very nice rooms. Good hotel. Plenty of hot water even with power cuts.
Basic rooms, no hot water, 20 sun beds for a hotel of this size even with the beach is not enough. I lost count of the number of people looking for a sunbed and then walking away. Charging $1-2 to fill a bottle with tap water is excessive. Unable to have a tab to charge expenses to....everything had to be paid at the time of usage.

Our Memories

"The variety of activities we were able to participate in. Unfortunately the weather was unusually unsettled in Arenal and Guachipelin which did affect our holiday - 48 hours of torrential rain with 2 power cuts at the Lomas de Volcan and very strong winds in Guachepelin closed the park for the 2 days we were there."
