Holiday review by Mr Simon Whitton
Name: Mr Simon WhittonDate of trip: 21/10/2015
Number of people: 2
Country: South AfricaOverall level of Satisfaction
Tribes Overall: "The best game viewing ever at Leopard Hills - wild dogs (family of 21), lion cubs, baby elephant, leopard ( with kill ), cheetah rhino hippos etc etc.
Sea too rough at Hermanus for whale boat trip but had a four hour guided land tour and saw many whales
Cape Town was as good as ever
Overall it exceeded our expectations"
Tribes Service: "The whole service has been outstanding - it is so comforting to know you are being met in airports etc - particularly Jo'Burg which I still find confusing when changing terminals
All the staff at all 3 venues were very welcoming and do genuinely want to help
"
Guides: "Guide ( Hugo ) at Leopard Hills was excellent in all respects and kept finding everything we asked to see !
Because of boat cancellation the Manager ( Belinda ) at 138 Marine fix a trip for us with David de Beer Southern Right whale expert and photographer which was a very good alternative to being on the water
"
Accommodation
As good as last time - the managers are so helpful in arranging/suggesting trips and booking restaurants etc.
Do check the adjoining building works for future guests !
By far the best camp we have stayed in - excellent food in a stunning location
Most attentive staff - nothing was too much trouble
And they had Sky TV !
Superb location. Excellent manager who had prebooked two different places for dinner and organised a special guided land tour for whale watching
Another time I would suggest booking 2 separate days boat trips as they do get cancelled about once a week on average. Perhaps we should have had an afternoon transfer to Cape Town to allow for this
Our Memories
"Almost too many to list but seeing the Wild Dog family playing together was the highlight but so were the lion cubs fighting over a stick and finding the Cheetah on our last drive !"
