Tribes Overall: "A truly memorable and informative holiday which far exceeded expectations. "
Tribes Service: "Tribes were very helpful in planning this holiday. They were easy to communicate with by email and phone and we would recommend them to anyone."
Guides: "Eddie, our guide, really made the holiday. I can't understand why anyone would do a self-drive safari as without a guide like Eddie you would miss so much. His encyclopaedic knowledge was outstanding and he answered questions with extreme patience. His sense of humour added to the enjoyment. Eddie is very special and he made the holiday for all of us.
Pappi, our cook, served up some really good food and all cooked on an open fire. He obviously enjoys his job and the bread he made was superb!"
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "We were pleased to hear about and see the steps being taken for conservation (cameras in the game park, wardens etc). It is clear that the local economy depends on tourism and because of that the animals are respected."
Accommodation
Pitched just right - not over the top luxurious but very comfortable with great views over the river. The dinner we had was good as was the breakfast. We didn't use the pool but it did look a bit on the small side. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend this lodge as a good start or finish to a safari holiday.
Our Memories
"We loved the fact that we were taken out of our comfort zone, roughing it in tents with "bush ablutions". Being so close to the wildlife was very special - like a David Atttenborough programme before our very eyes with Eddie, our guide, giving the commentary. Hearing an elephant rip a tree to pieces outside our tent at 1.30am was scary. Watching a leopard stalk, catch and eat a bird beside the truck. Seeing a pride of lions stroll across the road in front of us then find and surround a single baboon (we left before the kill). A parade of elephants strolling past the camp as we were having breakfast. So many things that now we are back in the UK we think "Did we really see that?". "
