Tribes Overall: "Please see my TripAdvisor reviews on Paje Dive Centre and Unguja Lodge to support this excellent rating."
Tribes Service: "Following an introduction from Rosy's travel, I worked with Amanda and Tracy to construct our Zanzibar holiday. Within days, we had agreed the accommodation, flights and price, so was able to proceed with a booking. Both were very helpful in providing information about preparing to travel and what the island was like. What I really liked was it was all from personal experience and not just a script from a travel brochure. Having just returned from a fantastic holiday, I'd like to say thanks for all their help in making it happen. I'll be sure to recommend Tribes to friends and family and use them where I can for future holidays."
Guides: "We didn't have a guide, just a driver to and from the airport. On these occasions they were friendly, helpful and timely."
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "Unguja Lodge just won an award for Best Sustainable hotel in Africa, so I think that speaks volumes to this point."
Accommodation

Where do I start?! We've just returned from a fantastic 10 nights at this lodge and can't find a single negative thing to say. Despite arriving on a wet Monday, the welcome was warm and friendly. We had villa 10 and although this was a garden view room, we were not disappointed. The communal areas were open-air and spacious and the bedroom air conditioned and secure. The plunge pool in our villa was refreshing, with a cold beer, after a hot day on the beach. Every day we woke up to find another animal to identify in the grounds and would typically have the monkeys use our upstairs day-bed as a play area. What made this place so special, I can't say without revealing all the secrets. However, it's amazing how the small things can go a long way. While we were there it was announced the lodge had just won an award for best sustainable hotel in Africa. I fully support the award, as they are committed to the immediate area and local village. I would strongly recommend this as the place to stay if you are in Zanzibar, as you get to experience the local culture and wildlife, rather than being in a big complex that could be anywhere in the world.
