Holiday review by Ms. Karen Mancini
Name: Ms. Karen ManciniDate of trip: 04/08/2015
Number of people: 3
Country: Galapagos IslandsOverall level of Satisfaction
Tribes Overall: "Overall a really good holiday. Some things more, some things less but I really would recommend Tribes, even if one or two little things were not ok, you cannot really be held accountable for people's behaviour in these countries, and it really was only one or two little things that bothered. "
Tribes Service: "Both Paul and Guy did a great job, very professional! Thank you to them. "
Guides: "I am saying averagely good, some better than others.
The guy in Peru, sorry I have forgotten his name, was good and polite.
The lady in Peru that met us and helped us was super nice and efficient.
The guide in Quito, Escoban, was really good and nice and passionate! We really enjoyed him. Also our driver Marco was fantastic!
The first lady on the boat was awful, bossy and should retire! (Alexandra, not sure of her name, I tried to forget it and her!) the second guy we didn't really meet but Jane said he was really good. "
Social & Environmental Responsibility: "I thought the whole trip took into account the social and environmental responsibility. "
Accommodation
Beautiful place and setting. Excellent food. Really friendly staff and family members. The service also excellent. We were really blown away and didn't want to leave. Totally recommend!
Good hotel and well positioned for the old city. The staff are nice, not over friendly but ok. The one lady that was friendly never shut up, so......... Maybe not over-friendly was better!
Everything about this hotel was excellent! The staff, the place, the food, the Spa, a treasure!!!
Nice hotel, well positioned. We got an upgrade, so for us even better! Staff not too friendly but OK.
Nice room. Staff spoke English.
Good to be at the airport.
Even if I had to abandon ship, the ship was only average. It was old and tired and the condition just average. In our cabin the air conditioning was broken and the bed wet, but they fixed it more or less straight away, which was good. The food (I didn't eat for two days) but my husband said it was ok, average. The most disappointing thing was the staff, they were really not very friendly. No one spoke English and it was as if they were just "putting-up" with us. Also the captain never introduced himself which I was really surprised about, that I found just rude!
Our Memories
"Loved Machu Picchu and the Sanctuary Lodge was great. The Sanctuary Lidge should be sold as a real advantage, even if expensive, as its great service, a great place and a treasure to be there to get in early to MP in the morning before all the crowds.
The other great memory is the Hacienda Zuleta a magical place and should be sold with at least three nights, 2 was not enough. Also the food and service is exceptionally good! "
