Visiting the villages at Mandrare and Manafiafy was fascinating; we had a lovely chat about boats with the fishermen at Manafiafy. The market near Mandrare was very interesting. We were the only guests for much of the time in Manafiafy, so it was really peaceful. And of course we saw some amazing animals and landscapes.

I really enjoyed the ability to stop for photos and see unique things in the moment. This ranges from animal sightings to human interactions along the road. The poverty is impossible to ignore but most of the people were curious without being forward. This is a unique country in many ways - it's people, landscapes and remoteness keep me from comparing it to anywhere else.

We each had different highlights - the Tsingy was incredible, the Isalo trek and swim, the lemur spotting, even the long drives gave a great sense of the changing nature of the country.....every day had something!

Our highlight has to be the night trip to watch the amazing eye eye while we were staying at Palmarium. The tame lemurs at Palmarium were also incredible to spend time with, entirely on their terms but they loved to interact with people.
