Our trip was packed full of exceptional wild life experiences. Whilst staying at Camp Xakanaxa we spent some time at a spot where 2 male lions had killed a buffalo. We watched while first one lion had a good meal, then a leopard appeared and stole a piece of meat followed by a wild dog who then disappeared at the sight of a lion This all occurred in the space of about 2 minutes. We were fortunate to have regular sightings of lion, leopard and wild dog as well as a couple of sightings of cheetah and of some of the rarer antelope, roan, sable and eland. The staff and guides at all of the camps were exceptionally friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be working there. We enjoyed the pre dinner singing put on by the staff at Camp Xakanaxa.

We’ve just arrived home and we’re still processing and sorting through the seven and a half thousand photos. Honestly what was amazing was that every morning and every evening was unique and amazing. There wasn’t one day we weren’t surprised and astounded. It was very cool that even the transit days were awesome. The drive from the airports was a game drive in itself. The surprise of sleeping under the stars on the last night took some of the sting out of going home.

We wanted to split the trip into two different experiences: first the safaris (in Chobe and in the Okavango Delta) and then a place to relax in Zanzibar while having the opportunity to discover the life on the island. Safaris exceeded our expectations, both from a human experience and wildlife. We were very lucky to be able to see such a myriad of animals evolving in those scenic places. Zanzibar was very relaxing and largely met our expectations as well, as we had the chance to experience the life on the island and the richness it offers (Stone Town and its boilant culture and liveliness, while being able to swim with Dolphins or get to see giant turtles and red colobus monkeys in the reserves)

Where to start! From the moment we boarded the little airplane from Maun the excitement began. I loved the flight over the Okavango Delta, we could see the beauty from above and pick out the animals, so special. Then, picked up by Josiah and driving to our Lodge, straight away we encountered animals, herds of Zebra, Giraffe, and so on, we had arrived in Africa! The accommodation was superb, beautiful room, so peaceful and we really didn’t know we had neighbours, felt like we had the wonderful peace and beauty of Botswana all to ourselves. After our first game drive we arrived back at the Lodge to be greeted by the staff and some wonderful African singing and dancing, what a fabulous way to enjoy our first evening. All the Game drives bought new experiences and a host of animal and bird life to enjoy. My son and I particularly enjoyed the walking Safari, amazing to be in the wilderness on our own with just our guide and driver. Finally our last experience was going out into the waters of the Delta, Wow! We were watched by a family of hippos just a few feet away! It was so peaceful and so stunning there and the birds and water plants were just beautiful, I’ve run out of superlatives...

For me one of the most special moments was arriving at Sango Safari Camp and the heartfelt welcome we received from the staff there, singing a welcoming song to us, and introducing us to their "family". This enitre camp experience was exceptional, and definietly the best, Nelson the manager is clearly doing a great job, all the staff seemed so happy, and we were always greeted warmly, with cool face towels to greet us after a long drive. we had many special wildflife moments, KB our Guide at Sango, determined that we would find the lions, before our onward flight home, and with 5 mins to spare, we saw them. Our guide "Action" at Moremi crossing was also exceptional, and sought out the Rhinos, a pride of Lions, and on the last morning
