Having recently celebrated a ‘special’ birthday with a long weekend break, and with my parents-in-law soon to enjoy a Golden Wedding cruise, it’s clear that holidays play an important role in helping us celebrate special occasions.

As to experiences, imagine soaring over the Serengeti in a hot air balloon as giraffe, zebra and buffalo race across the plains below, spending an entrancing hour in the company of a family of gorillas, that first magical glimpse of Machu Picchu as the early morning cloud starts to lift, marvelling at the sight, sound and sheer might of Victoria Falls … There are so many wonderful things to do and so many ways to make a special moment extra-special.
