Xugana Island Lodge is situated on a private concession on the edge of Xugana Lagoon, the largest and considered by many the most spectacular, permanent water site in the Okavango Delta. It accommodates a maximum of just 16 guests at a time and has an intimate atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and will make you feel right at home.
Accommodation is in 8 raised chalets constructed of reed and thatch. All have en-suite facilities with showers and twin hand basins, plus a private viewing deck overlooking the lagoon. The main area consists of an open-sided lounge, bar and dining area, set under trees so you'll be shaded from the heat. There are sofas and coffee tables where you can sit and chat as you enjoy fine views over the lagoon. The lodge has gardens and an outdoor swimming pool where you can take time out between game viewing activities.
Both mokoro and motorboat rides are offered as ways of exploring the unique delta environment. You'll also have the chance to to explore the islands of the private concession on foot, which is the best way to get close to the environment. Day and night game drives are offered to round off the Xugana experience. Bird watching and fishing are also popular pastimes.
