Camp Xakanaxa

Location: Camp Xakanaxa is in the beautiful Moremi Game Reserve, set on the banks of the Khwai River on the Xakanaxa Lagoon. It is about a 15-minute drive from Moremi airstrip.

Rooms: The 12 tented rooms are set on raised platforms. Each has a private viewing deck to make the most of its lagoon-side position. All tents are ensuite, with a shower, hand basin, toilet and a supply of toiletries. Bathrobes are provided. One of the tents is a family tent which has two en-suite bedrooms. Tents have 220v multi adaptor plugs for charging camera batteries etc. There's a small safe for storing valuables and a hairdryer in each room.

Activities: Game drives in open Land Rovers. Motorised boat safaris operate year-round, too, making this one of the few camps that offer both land and water wildlife viewing all year.

Facilities: There is a lounge, bar, small library and dining area. Outside there are 2 swimming pools and a fire deck where you can enjoy evening drinks.

Dining: Breakfast and lunch are served in the dining room, with dinner on the viewing deck, weather permitting. All are served buffet style.

Children: The camp accepts children 6 years of age and over.  As the camp is unfenced, children need to be supervised at all times.

Health: This is a malarial area.

Communication: There is no mobile reception, no direct phone or fax and no Wi-Fi.  There is a guest laptop in the library that has a basic internet connection. Communication is maintained by radio and satellite phone in case of emergencies.
