A nice older style hotel with accommodation in cottages. Very pleasant atmosphere. Set Kerala menu for dinner. No licence. We stayed in one of the lower garden cottages and there are a considerable number of steep steps up to the restaurant which would make it inconvenient for a less able or infirm person (we had to stop half way up for a breather).

We stayed 3 nights here and could have stayed longer as it was so peaceful. The rooms were more basic than other hotels we stayed in but this was more than compensated for by the location and views overlooking the tea plantations and the food and service was exceptional.

The location of Windermere near Munnar was very good with lovely views and surroundings on the estate. The room was large but was a bit dated. Again , the staff were very friendly and they have just put in a very beautiful infinity pool. Being that much higher though it was a bit too cool to tempt us in. I think the disappointing part of Windermere is the food. It is a set meal with a few slight variations for vegetarians etc but was a bit mundane compared to some of the choices we had enjoyed previously.

We were upgraded here too. The staff were helpful; the room was plain but adequate. I was a bit disappointed to get tea bags and powdered milk substitute in a tea area. The main course for dinner was always excellent.

A really lovelyplace to stay. Dr. Simon was an excellent host ant he staff very helpful and efficient. Some apartments are below the the restaurant area with quite steep steps which would be suitable for elderly with mobility problems.
