Wildlife Camps are small eco-friendly camps in private campsites which move with the seasonal migrations of wildlife movements.

These camps have a low impact on the environment and leave no permanent footprint on the land. There is no fixed plumbing or electricity. They are decorated with authentic East African fabrics and fittings and materials from local craftsmen. There is solar powered lighting in most camps and the bathrooms have water saving, self-contained toilets and safari-style showers.

The staff in the camps are highly trained, professional and local people, happy to provide you with a friendly service. Each day the chefs produce gourmet meals from fresh local ingredients.

The tented rooms are large and comfortable with cosy beds of deluxe linen. En-suite showers and toilets provide modern comforts in a bush environment.

IN THE SERENGETI:

Elmakati Wildlife Camp is open from December to March, with 18 tents. It is located in the central-southern portion of the Serengeti, near the Seronera region, during December to March visitors can be as close to the large migration herds as possible.

Kogakuria Wildlife Camp is open from May to November, with 16 tents. It is located in the northern Serengeti, near the Mara River (towards the Kenya border), at this time of year the migration moves in and out of Kenya and this campsite allows exclusivity in a location which has very few other camps or lodges.

Robanda Wildlife Camp is open from May to March (closed in April - rainy month), with 18 tents. This camp is located just outside the park gates on the western edge of Serengeti National Park near Ikoma. There is a large dining and lounge structure, exclusive to this campsite only, for relaxing before and after wildlife viewing. Opportunities for walking are also available from this campsite as it is outside of the national park.

IN TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK:

Tarangire Wildlife Camp is open from May to March. It has 17 tents and is set amongst some baobab trees with a long distance view over to Lake Burungi.

IN THE NGORONGORO CRATER CONSERVATION AREA:

Ngorongoro Wildlife Camp is open from May to March. There are usually 12 tents from May to July, then 18 from mid-July. It is in the forested area on the northeast rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, offering convenient access to the Crater floor.

Client Rating for Tanzania 5/5 from 217 reviews

The tent was very comfortable and the bucket shower very efficient. In the morning, a jug of hot water was brought with the cry of 'Jambo, jambo' and a comment on the wild animals passing by. We could see elephant, giraffe or zebra before we even got out of bed! Lovely lounge tents and eating tents too, with staff that made sure we were well looked after.
