The 10 guest tents and main areas of Verney's Camp are set around a large waterhole which attracts a variety of game by day and night, so you can enjoy the parade of wildlife without even stirring from camp! The location is further enhanced by the tranquil private concession setting, well away from any crowds, and with just 10 tents, there's an intimate ambience.

Your walk-in tent is surprisingly spacious with room for a sofa and desk, as well as the bed. Polished wooden floors and campiagn style furniture are very much in keeping with the bush setting, the large screened windows ensure there's plenty of natural light, while the ceiling fan helps keep the interior cool. The en-suite bathroom has solar-heated running water for the shower, double vanity unit and flush toilet  To the front of the tent there's a private deck, ideal for watching wildlife at the pan. All tents are set among trees and positioned well apart to ensure seclusion.

You are offered both game drives and guided walks, allowing you to enjoy different aspects of nature and gain an insight into the flora and fauna of the area. Being located in a concession has the twin benefit of fewer people and the chance to take night drives to experience life in the bush after nightfall. There are opportunities to tour the nearby Wild Dog Reseach Station to learn about this endangered species from staff who devote their time to its conservation. Visits to a local village and school can also be organised, to give you a glimpse into life in Hwange.

The camp's outdoor pool is just the ticket when you want a refreshing dip, and the lounge with its cushion-strewn settes and comfy armchairs is the perfect place to rest between safaris, chatting to other guests or catching up on some reading. Meals are served in the separate dining tent, and eaten as a group or at individual tables as preferred. There's a covered deck, too, for al fresco dining. The lounge and dining tents both lead out to the campfire, by the waterhole, where sundowner drinks are served.
