Open: Unguja Lodge is open year-round.

Location: Set on a small coral cliff, just a few steps down to the white sandy beaches on the southwest tip of Zanzibar.

Rooms: 12 luxury villas, 6 facing the ocean, 3 with views of the garden and 2 family houses. All are open to the breeze, have large bedrooms and open bathrooms with showers. There's also a lounge and a veranda.

Activities: There is an onsite PADI centre offering day trips, full courses and snorkelling. Day excursions to Stone Town and to Jozani Forest can be arranged, there are guided walks, village visits, sunset cruises, dolphin excursions and spice tours.

Facilities: The main lodge is where you'll find the restaurant with an open dining area, a comfortable lounge and a sparkling pool with loungers. Steps lead down to the beach. There are attractive gardens, with lots of birds, monkeys and lizards.

Dining: Meals are served in the dining area or restaurant.

Children: The camp welcomes children of all ages.

Health: This is a malarial area.

Communication: There is a mobile reception, telephone and fax facilities (local charges apply) and complimentary Wi-Fi, accessible in the main areas.
