Twyfelfontein Country Lodge offers hospitality at a very reasonable price.  It's close to the rock art site (just 4km away), the Brandberg Mountain and the Organ Pipes can also be visited easily from here along with the ancient Welwitschia plants and the petrified forest.  Add to this the stunning scenery and warm hospitality and you've got a winning combination.

The lodge itself has been thoughtfully placed with mountains providing the backdrop and the beautiful scenery to the front is dotted with rocky outcrops and boulders. The buildings have been finished with similar colours to the landscape helping it to blend in as much as possible. There are 56 rooms built in thatched blocks of 8 and one VIP suite.  Don't let the number of rooms put you off though as it's a friendly lodge, offering good service. The rooms are simply furnished with wooden furniture, cream walls and tiled floors, they are finished off with colourful African prints. Some of the rooms have inter-leading doors making them ideal for families.

The entrance to the main area is accessed by walking between huge boulders, it is also finished in subtle ochres and reds and browns to fit in with the natural surroundings as much as possible. This building houses a reception, the restaurant and dining room, bar, curio shop and a lounge. There are a number of areas where you can relax and unwind. Meals are usually served buffet style in the elevated dining area which has amazing views of the immediate scenery and the swimming pool offers a welcome relief from the hot sun. The pool is surrounded by a grassy area and there are some loungers dotted around, just pick the perfect spot to sit and relax.

The lodge has an Activity Desk and can arrange trips for you to the rock art, or the Organ Pipes and the Doros crater, or you can explore these in your own vehicle. They also offer guided tours to seek out the desert adapted elephant, rhinos and other animals such as giraffe and springbok.
