Open: Tuli Safari Lodge is open all year.

Location: The lodge is in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve, close to the borders with South Africa and Zimbabwe. It is on the banks of the Limpopo River. The lodge can be easily reached from South Africa either via a flight to the Limpopo Valley Airfield or to Polokwane from Johannesburg, or by road.

Rooms: There are ten guest suites, made up of eight luxury tented suites and two classic suites. The luxury tented suites have a large bedroom with space for armchairs, a ceiling fan and an en-suite bathroom with twin vanity units, a shower and a bath on an adjoining open sided terrace. Amenities include hot drinks maker, a hairdryer and a safe. They can sleep up to three adults. Classic suites are non-tented and have similar features and layouts to the tented suites, plus air conditioning and an outdoor shower on in a private patio. These suites can accommodate up to three adults or two adults plus two children under 12 years. Tented suites are named phofu (eland), phala (impala), thutwa (giraiffe), manole (kingfisher), kgokong (wildebeest), kgaka (guinea fowl)l letlhakela (lilac-breasted roller) and lekototo (mongoose). The classic suites are called kolobe (warthog) and nkwe (leopard).  

Activities: Two guided safari activities (two game drives or one game drive and one nature walk) a day are included. Additional guided walks can be arranged subject to availability. You can also watch wildlife from the lodge’s several hides, follow a self-guided 0.5km walking trail within the grounds, join a night drive and visit the local village. Staff can arrange a sleepout at a hide for a true wildlerness experience.

Facilities: The lodge has an outdoor swimming pool with a shallow end for children, a small hide by a waterhole within its grounds and a ‘star deck’ viewpoint. There is a main lounge leading out to a deck, a bar and large bar deck and a cosy winter lounge. The gift shop sells books, crafts and clothes. There is a free laundry service.

Dining: Meals are usually eaten together as a group in a variety of locations within the lodge grounds.

Children: Children of all ages are welcome. Suites are large enough to accommodate families with two children. There is a Kids@Tuli activity pack and special activities for youngsters like making plaster casts of animal tracks and going frogging. Baby sitting can be arranged. The minimum age for bush walks is 12 years. Families with children under 12 need to arrange an exclusive use safari vehicle, subject to availability.

Health: This is a malarial area.

Communication: There is free Wi-Fi internet access.
