Tiger Mountain

Nepal

Open:  Tiger Mountain is open all year.

Location:  Tiger Mountain is set some 300 metres above the Pokhara Valley against a backdrop of the Himalayas. The town of Pokhara is just 30 minutes drive away.

Rooms:  Accommodation is in 19 stone-built cottage rooms with slate roofs, parquet floors, handmade wooden furniture, Tibetan rugs and original artwork. They have large windows, double doors and spacious verandas to make the most of the wonderful views. Each cottage has a private bathroom.

Activities:  Guided walks and village visits, day hikes, paragliding, golf, tennis, bird watching and fishing are all available. Guests can also visit shops and museums in Pokhara or opt to relax in and around the lodge, maybe enjoying spa treatments or a swim in the pool.

Facilities:  The lodge has lovely gardens. The main lodge has an inviting lounge with a log fire, a library with a collection of Himalayan mountaineering literature belonging to the late Colonel J. O. M. Roberts. There is a well-stocked bar. There is a candle-lit terrace for pre-dinner drinks. The spa offers a range of therapies and massages. Yoga sessions and meditation can be arranged. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool.

Dining:  Meals are taken at individual tables.

Children:  Children of all ages are welcome.

Health: Pokhara is not a malarial area.

Communication:  There is WiFi internet access in guest rooms and in the library, to be paid for locally.

Notes:   Due to the nature of the accommodation (there are lots of steps) and activities, Tiger Mountain is not suited to people with limited mobility.
